Good tips. That layer pinning is interesting. Will have to try that. Though I always wear a white slip underneath my skirts and dresses for protective and modesty reasons.
For sure! Are you more into full or half slips? And what colors, lengths, and brands you have and recommend? I have 5 half and 4 full slips, all white with lace detail, but lengths all knee to calf. Looking to venture out a bit. Any recommendations?
Full slips in black are my go-to. If you only have white, I would maybe go for cream or a soft butter yellow to branch out a bit--maybe even a sage green? And this might be a cliché answer, but I find that thrift and secondhand stores are usually so oversaturated with vintage slip dresses/tops/skirts that I never reach for something new. I also find that so many modern brands use cheap polyester/polyester blends that feel terrible on my skin. Upkeep is key! My eyes always go to the wrinkles on slip dresses--you have to steam them gently (a sock over the steamer works to protect from water damage) to make them look perfect.

that's a good addition! i feel like slips also give a nice boxy shape to the lower body, which adds more interest to the silhouette for me.
